What is my child learning?

In 3rd grade, as part of their study of multiplication and foundation of fractions, students learn about area and perimeter. Students use strategies related to multiplication to determine the area of rectangles. In this activity, students take that skill a step farther by exploring factor pairs and fluently moving between calculating area and perimeter.
