Deb’s Tips: What is My Kid Learning with DanPan?

Hi Panda Pals,

Hope you all are having a wonderful week. Time for another DanPan Tip. Hereis today'‘s question:

What is my kid learning with DanPan activities?

Soo….not sure how many of you actually have noticed the various other resources we have after each activity, but there’s one section that I want to call out called “What Is My Child Learning?” This section explains what exactly you and your child are learning. Key skills and concepts that your child is learning are bolded. Our goal is to explain to parents and families what you are doing with your child that makes the game educational and grade-level appropriate.

Why did we include this? Well, part of the reason why I first created Dancing Panda was that as a parent, I had no idea what oldest daughter Maddie was learning in first grade. Because I didn't know, I couldn’t support her effectively and confidently in her learning. So, when I created Dancing Panda, I knew I wanted to better understand what Maddie was learning and share this information with other parents.

Please think of it as a little gift from us with every activity - so you can become a little bit more connected as to what your child is learning and how you are helping your child grow and develop. By having that information, you are also equipped with more information, and the terminology, to also speak to your child’s teacher.

So, here’s my challenge to you: send an email to your child’s teacher and tell them something about what your child is learning, and use one or two of the concepts highlighted in one of the activities. My hunch is that your kid’s teacher will be so excited to hear from you, and thankful to know how you are partnering with them in your child's education.

Have a wonderful week - and let us know what you think of this tip. We welcome feedback and want to hear about what you think about this post and our activities. We’d love to hear from you. Comment below or send us an email at Hello@dancingpandapal.com.

Happy Dancing!

Best,
Deb
