Job Summary
Dancing Panda is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven freelance Curriculum Writer to create and review joyful, standards-aligned learning content for families with children in grades PreK–5. We are hiring one freelancer, and we have a particular interest in candidates with upper elementary experience.
About Dancing Panda
Dancing Panda partners with U.S. schools and school districts to deliver curriculum-aligned, month-long text campaigns to parents and families with kids in grades PreK–5 with easy and joyful learning activities that families can do together. Activities can be done in 5–10 minutes, require few or no materials, and reinforce classroom learning while giving parents and families insight into what their kids are learning at school. Dancing Panda offers learning activities in 7 subjects: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, Arts, and Wellness — all aligned to the school's learning goals and state education standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create and review joyful, standards-aligned learning content, including mini-lesson plans and supporting resources for parents and caregivers
Work collaboratively with the Founder & CEO and other curriculum writers to develop content
Qualifications, Skills, and Mindsets
A commitment to Dancing Panda's mission and focus on family and school engagement
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
Elementary teaching experience preferred
At least 5 years of experience, either in the classroom or supporting teachers in the classroom
Experience with best practices in PreK–5 curriculum development, including scope and sequence, lesson planning, and standards alignment across multiple states and curricula
Experience creating culturally responsive learning materials
Experience engaging effectively with families preferred
Experience working with education AI and generative AI tools preferred
Experience creating content for parents and caregivers a plus
Familiarity with subjects including ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, Arts, and Wellness, including Physical Education and Social and Emotional Development
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong organizational and project management skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and/or experience with entrepreneurial projects or organizations is a plus
Structure and Compensation
This work will be done on a project basis, with the potential for additional projects. Pay is negotiable depending on experience. Remote and flexible working hours.
